Accounting update coming soon

Sage Pastel Partner & Sage Xpress Version 11 is due for release in March. The update comes with some exciting new features including Windows 7 compatibility for increased stability, fax capability and some point-of-sale enhancements too.

Possibly the most important new feature of Version 11 is the electronic tax invoice that allows for an electronic signature and is sent in a 128-byte encryption format. Both elements are required by SARS for electronic invoicing but there is also an onus on users to ensure that their electronic tax invoices comply with additional SARS conditions. In a nutshell, SARS requires electronic tax invoices to meet the follow requirements;  

  • The recipient of the invoice must confirm that they are willing to accept tax invoices electronically;
  • No other copies may be issued unless marked as “copy tax invoice” ; and
  • A range of specific information must also be included on the document including name, address and VAT details of both parties, serialised invoice numbers, a proper description of goods or services provided, the volume of goods and price and VAT charged.

A detailed user-guide will accompany the software and training on Version 11 will also be available.

Cover Customers

All customers on Cover will receive their free upgrade to Version 11. An email will be sent to all customers once Version 11 has been released so that you can contact your local business partner for your upgrade.
