As a Cover customer you have access to our support centre that is committed to providing you with all the help you need, when you need it. Our 140-seater call centre has just been nominated as a finalist in the Contact Centre World Awards and Tamsin Bradford is the support manager that runs the show … When and where were you born? I am a Durban girl so always young at heart. What was your first job? I was a cashier in a bottle store. Not a glamorous role but it certainly taught me to work with a broad range of people and personality types; something that holds me in good stead in my current job. Describe your current job. I am the support manager for Pastel Accounting which means that I am responsible for managing our call centre. At the end of the day, my job is to keep our customers happy by ensuring that the support department is sufficiently staffed and trained to address any client query. Which piece of technology/gadget do you wish you had invented? The Amazon Kindle! I am a book lover of note and have put one on my birthday list. Which piece of technology or gadget can you not live without? E-mail. It keeps me linked to everyone both professionally and personally. Although sometimes I wish there was no e-mail so that people would communicate face to face more often. What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received? Someone once told me that customers don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care. This is very true and it’s a mantra I live by every day in my professional life. Which three people (dead or alive) would you invite to dinner and why? My father, grandfather and younger sister. They have all passed on and I would give anything to have one last meal and conversation with them. What are your hobbies? Being a mother, wife and career woman keeps me pretty busy! Can you finish the following sentences please… Before I die, I want to see my children grow up to be wonderful responsible adults, see my grandchildren be born and then round it all off with a leisurely cruise around the world with my husband. My greatest hope for the future is that Eskom gets a clue! |
